The purpose of this study is to develop a CRM model and empirically test its underlying constructs in the banking and financial sector in Jordan. The empirical data was collected from a convenient sample of 141 banks and financial institutions, drawn from three major Jordanian cities (Amman, Irbid, and Al-Zarqa). A drop-off method of data collection was used (Aaker et al. 2004). The findings show that Jordanian banks and financial institutions were likely to have a clear CRM strategic vision with specific goals and programs, possess necessary resources to establish CRM, be able to manage CRM programs, and use two way communications to handle CRM. Nevertheless, the analysis unveiled that these firms were not likely to have a sufficient marketing database, nor customer intelligence, with little motivation to either measure effectiveness of CRM programs or take actions to improve an unpopular CRM strategy. Further analysis of the findings indicated that the CRM concept did not seem to be well incorporated in the business strategy of most Jordanian banks and financial institutions. Several recommendations were made and certain directions for future research were highlighted....

This study examines the adoption and acceptance of information technology from the perspective of Malaysian bankers. The results of the study indicate that majority of Malaysian bankers heavily used computer for routine jobs such as paper work and data maintenance but rarely use the computer for advance functions such as business analysis, planning and decision making. Malaysian bankers also rarely used professional software for specific purposes such as statistical analysis or programming languages. The regression result of this study appeared to suggest that perceived usefulness, management support and external computing support were found to be the most influential factors in determining microcomputer usage among bankers in Malaysia. Overall, the results of this study are valuable to both researchers and bank management in providing new insights about the IT from bankers point of view....
The purpose of the research is to examine the role of innovation capital in the creation of value for business organizations. Taking an intellectual capital (IC) perspective, the paper considers R&D investment and its impacts on the companies operating, financial, and market performance. To investigate the different components of intellectual capital using financial measures, a modified Value Added Intellectual Coefficient (VAICTM) is used for analysis. Empirical study is conducted on 367 Taiwan semiconductor companies using Pearson correlation and linear multiple regression whereas financial information is generated from a third party database from Taiwan Economic Journal. The result shows that a companys IC in general has a negative impact on its financial and market performance. However, the association between innovation capital which captured by R&D expenditure efficiency (RDE) and companies operating, financial and market performance is significant. The results provide a different perspective apart from extant research....

We use Matlab program and neural network to get the results in seven learning schemes with different training-to-validation data ratios. Experimental results will suggest which neural network model, and under which learning scheme can deliver optimum performance....
In Nigeria, Banks multifaceted and pivotal role in the economic system has attracted regulatory attention in an effort to inspire sound corporate governance standards and address the unique features of risks faced by credit institutions. The composition of the board of directors therefore constitutes one of the most essential corporate governance themes and has caught the attention of academics and regulators alike. This paper therefore employed secondary data covering a period of 3 post consolidation years (2006-2008) in studying the effects of the proportion of non executive directors on the profitability of the listed banks in Nigeria. A panel data regression analysis was used in analysing the variables under consideration. The paper observed from the findings that a negative but significant relationship exists between ROE and NED. The paper concludes that the negative association is likely to be because non executive directors are too busy with other commitments and are only involved with the company business on a part-time basis. We therefore recommend that in other to have proper monitoring by independent directors, bank regulatory bodies should require additional disclosure of financial and personal ties between directors and the organizations they work for....
